Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Rep Trace is a fitness app that helps you log workouts, understand recovery, and get AI training guidance. We value your privacy and follow a local-first approach: your workout records and Apple Health data stay on your device by default.

By using Rep Trace, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and uninstall it.

2. Operator Information

3. Information We Collect

Workout and body data (on device): Training plans, sets, weights, workout history, body measurements, weight, profile name, and similar data stored in device localStorage.
Apple Health data (on device, with your permission): After you grant access, the app may read sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, steps, active energy, and workout records to calculate recovery and training load (ATL/CTL/TSB). Raw health samples are not uploaded to our servers.
Sign in with Apple: When you use Sign in with Apple, your user identifier and name or email (if provided by Apple) may be stored locally for account display. We do not retain identity tokens long-term; after verification, our gateway issues short-lived session tokens.
Cloud workout backup (optional, requires sign-in): After sign-in, the app may back up workout records, body metrics, training plans, and preferences to our servers (JSON isolated by Apple user identifier) for device migration. Raw Apple Health samples are not uploaded. You can delete your account in the app at any time to remove cloud backups.
AI feature data (sent to our gateway over HTTPS): When you use Ask Rep Trace, AI recaps, natural-language workout parsing, or equipment recognition, your text input, workout summaries, or photos you upload are sent to our servers and forwarded to third-party AI services to generate responses.
Product analytics (PostHog): To improve the product, the app may send anonymous or pseudonymous usage events (such as feature taps and subscription flow outcomes) to PostHog. This is not used for ad targeting, and we do not sell your personal information.
Device and logs: Our servers may record IP addresses, request times, API paths, and error information for security and troubleshooting, typically retained for a short period.

4. How We Use Information

Display workout records, stats, and recovery guidance on your device;
Provide cloud backup and restore after you sign in;
Call our AI gateway to generate coaching replies, recaps, or parsing results when you request them;
Send local notifications you enable on your device (such as post-workout reminders or Sunday recap reminders);
Analyze feature usage to improve the product;
Maintain the security and stability of eiffelweight.fun and our APIs.

We do not use your raw health data for ad targeting, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. Storage and Retention

On device: Workout and body data are stored locally on your iPhone. Uninstalling the app deletes this local data (unless you have a separate backup).
Cloud backup: Retained while you remain signed in, until you delete your account or we clean up inactive data for operations. After account deletion, backup files and sessions linked to your Apple user identifier are removed.
AI requests: Processed in real time; aside from necessary security and operations logs, we do not store conversation content as a long-term personal training library.
Content backend: Editorial content such as Hot picks and training briefs is unrelated to your personal workout data.

6. Third-Party Services

Apple: Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, Apple Watch, App Store subscriptions, local notifications, and system permissions are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Volcengine Ark (ByteDance): AI coaching, recaps, and parsing features call large-model APIs. Content sent to this service is governed by its terms and privacy policy.
PostHog: Product analytics provider. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.
Cloud hosting: The website and AI gateway are hosted on Alibaba Cloud ECS (mainland China) to provide HTTPS APIs and static pages.

7. AI Features

AI responses are for training reference only and do not constitute medical diagnosis or treatment advice. Do not enter other people's private information, ID numbers, or full medical records in conversations.

Equipment recognition requires you to take a photo actively; photos are used only for that recognition request. Please do not upload images containing faces or unrelated private information.

8. Your Rights

Manage Rep Trace's Health data permissions in iPhone Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices;
Disconnect Apple Health in the app under Me › Connected Devices;
Sign out in Me › Sign Out to clear local Apple sign-in and cloud sessions (local workout records are kept by default; cloud backups remain);
Delete your account in Me › Delete Account to remove cloud backups and revoke related cloud sessions (local data is kept by default; uninstalling the app clears local data);
Uninstall the app to delete local workout and profile data;
Contact us by email to request access, correction, or deletion of server-side information related to you.

9. Children's Privacy

Rep Trace is not directed at children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy and publish changes in the app or on this page. For material changes, we will notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.
